Renewal Risk Summaries
Spot renewal risk using notes, usage signals, and stakeholder changes.
Learning Objectives
- Ground risk in evidence.
- Connect signals to business impact.
- Assign mitigation actions.
Risk needs evidence
Renewal risk summaries are only useful when every risk is tied to a signal. The signal can come from usage, support history, stakeholder movement, unresolved blockers, or meeting notes.
Ask AI to connect the signal to business impact. "Low usage" is not enough. The summary should explain why low usage matters and what action can reduce the risk.
Good risk summaries include
- Risk name
- Evidence
- Business impact
- Severity
- Mitigation step
- Owner and due date
The output should make the next action obvious. If no action is possible, the model should say what information is missing.
Examples
Risk with evidence
Risk: low executive engagement. Evidence: sponsor missed last two syncs. Action: schedule value review with VP.
Practice Exercise
Create a risk table
Paste account notes and usage signals. Generate a renewal risk table with mitigation steps.
- Every risk has evidence.
- Impact is specific.
- Each action has an owner.
